*** Birth Story ***
Dominica was due on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 2001 but decided to make her grand appearance on Friday, March 23, 2001!
My labor started Thursday, March 22nd at 7:30PM with contractions coming every 4-6 minutes. At midnight, they were between 2-4 minutes now. I waited until 3:30 AM to go to the hospital.I didn't want to be sent home!
When I arrived at the hospital, I was -2 Station, 50% effaced and only at 2 CM. By 9:00 AM, I was still a -2, 50% effaced but now between 2-3 CM so the dr gave me something (I forgot LOL) to try and get the contractions and everything moving faster. By 1:30 PM, I was the same except now I was at 3 CM.
After 20 painfully long hours, the doctor decided that I wasn't big enough to deliver this size baby so I ended up having a C-Section.
AT 4:09 PM, Dominica was born! She weighed 8 lbs 7.6 oz and 19 inches long.She has dark brown hair and the prettiest little eyes! She was just perfect and so precious! She looks just like her big sister, Gianna!
Perfectly Healthy
Dominica scored an 8 and 9 on her Apgar tests. She left the hospital weighing 8 lbs, 1 oz. On her 2 week doctor's appointment, she weighed 8 1/2 lbs and grew to 20 1/2 inches. Just three days later, she was 9 lbs and 21 inches.
She is just growing and growing and such a great baby!
Siblings
Dominica is welcomed by her older sister, Gianna who turned two years old on April 8th, just 16 days after Dominica was born! They look like identical twins at this age! Gianna is just so happy to be a big sister and such a great help!
